Bootleg City: Sinéad O'Connor in 1990
We do not want what we have not got, unless we have not got this concert recording

Hello again, fellow citizens of Bootleg City! It's a rainy Saturday here — according to a news report I probably only half-heard, this is apparently our 14th rainy weekend in a row — but no one needs to worry about getting their heads wet on account of the semi full of remaindered umbrellas that Mayor Wardlaw recently picked up from the vendor responsible for printing merch in support of the Storm's 1991 tour. Apparently this poor bastard had been sitting on a warehouse full of Storm-branded rain gear for nearly 35 years, and when he met our brave Mayor — who also happens to be the biggest Storm fan in the world — he knew he'd found himself a sucker buyer at long last.
Unfortunately, the warranty on those umbrellas has long since expired, and there may have been a million or so moths living in that warehouse, and also, thanks to the exorbitant amount of money Mayor Wardlaw agreed to spend on the shipment, school has been canceled for next year. He says we've all learned enough anyway, and I guess he might have a point.
Well. In addition to possibly faulty umbrellas, the mayoral mansion has also bestowed us with another dribbling of bootleggy goodness from the vault: Specifically, this 1990 concert recording, which finds an ascendant Sinéad O'Connor playing the Hammersmith Odeon just as her cover of "Nothing Compares 2 U" was racing up the charts around the world. It's a pretty nifty snapshot of a brilliant artist finding her audience, and even though Mayor Wardlaw remains pissed that she didn't perform the Storm's "I've Got a Lot to Learn About Love" during this set, it remains a crown jewel among the many recordings wedged and crammed into every last nook of the mayoral mansion. Enjoy:
